Mayoiga is one of those "promising" titles that I watched out for before the Spring 2016 season started but I'd have to admit that this was one of the, if not the most, underwhelming series this season. Surely I won't just state that and not have any reason, so I'll tell you why I think that this series did not live up to my expectations.
I'd have to give credit to whoever thought to have this many main characters in a series (since I assumed all of them were main characters, which they really are imo) since that alone made it interesting enough for me to watch it past episode 1. The way they introduced the characters on episode 1 was also good in a way that it made me feel (at that point already) that this was sort of a horror/killing type of anime. Like you get that feeling that someone is going to die eventually. This was not the case in Mayoiga though since it's main focus was the Nanaki. (I'll explain in a bit)
In this part of the series, they made a pretty good job making Yottsun "disappear" (I'll spoil you guys already since I'm not really "sensitive" about this series) and I'll tell you how and why he disappeared in a bit, but in this scene where he takes Masaki out to go "exploring" I was kinda surprised at how fast the "disappearances" were happening since this was only on episode 2.
I'm not going to review every episode in the series but on episode 3 things start to get a little shaky for their group as Jack tried to attack Judgement-kun with a pick axe and therefore creating a "ripple" effect on the group and everyone panicked.
Alright so here's the start of one of the things that I hated the most out of this series. If you look at the screenshot above (the Jack one) you will see that it was still daytime on episode 3. Here on the next screenshot (this one above this text) it's already night time and this started on Episode 4. (screenshot was taken on episode 5) At least 8 more episodes until the end of the series right? But one of the things that I hated most was the fact that once the sun went down on episode 3, it never came back up until that one time on episode 9 after they went through the tunnel. I'll show you more screenshots per episode to show you that fact.

If you've noticed, everyone was not fond of Masaki. At first I thought that the tour guide was behind all of this, but I was mistaken. By the start of episode 6 I already realized that the Nanaki was different in everybody and it was connected with their past lives. So the focus here now was how to defeat the Nanaki. It took more or less 8 episodes for them to finish the series and what's funny in a good way is that some of them stayed in Nanaki Village while the others went back to the "real world". I admit that making Reiji a Nanaki of Masaki was a shocking revelation to me, since it would've been better if Reiji was real and there'd be a conflict with Mitsumune and him, but making Reiji a Nanaki is also a good way to end it.
One thing that I like however, was the romance between Mitsumune and Masaki. It was fairly cute to see the two of them getting close and even after Masaki saw Reiji again. Although this series wasn't really a romance title, it did make my kokoro go doki-doki. <3
And that's about it for my review of Mayoiga. Next to finish on my anime list are Bungou Stray Dogs, Kiznaiver, and Netoge. I'll give all of them some reviews as well, might be short or long depending on my mood and interest on the series. XD Again, thanks for reading! :D
Oh, before I forget there's this one thing that I really liked about Mayoiga though. It's the ending song Ketsuro by Katahira Rina. Here's a video of it, enjoy~ (I haven't found any good full version of it though, if you guys find one send me a PM! XD)
