♫ My Summer 2016 Anime List ♫
Summer Season is upon us! (Well, at least in Japan) and it's time for some new, and returning, anime series' for this season. I've looked at MyAnimeList and AniChart for the upcoming titles this year and I've found some exciting and interesting titles to watch. But I'll be honest, I might be very biased with Shokugeki no Soma because it was (and still is) my favorite anime series since last year and it's somewhat special to me because it's one of the three manga titles that I've only read. (Yes, I don't read manga :P) The other two being Akatsuki no Yona and Sukitte Ii na Yo (Say "I Love You").
Enough of the chitchat and let's go straight to the anime list! Reminder though, this is not the whole airing list for Summer 2016, this is just my own watch list for this upcoming season and the titles that I'd be watching. So without further ado, here's my anime list for this upcoming Summer 2016 in order of priority:

1. Shokugeki no Soma: Ni no Sara (Shokugeki no Soma: The Second Plate)
Ever since he was a child, fifteen-year-old Souma Yukihira has helped his father by working as the sous chef in the restaurant his father runs and owns. Throughout the years, Souma developed a passion for entertaining his customers with his creative, skilled, and daring culinary creations. His dream is to someday own his family's restaurant as its head chef.
Yet when his father suddenly decides to close the restaurant to test his cooking abilities in restaurants around the world, he sends Souma to Tootsuki Culinary Academy, an elite cooking school where only 10 percent of the students graduate. The institution is famous for its "Shokugeki" or "food wars," where students face off in intense, high-stakes cooking showdowns.
As Souma and his new schoolmates struggle to survive the extreme lifestyle of Tootsuki, more and greater challenges await him, putting his years of learning under his father to the test.

As an avid fan of cooking/food anime (e.g. Yakitate Japan, Cooking Master Boy) Shokugeki is on top of my list. FYI, I even tried to cook at least one or two recipes that were shown in the first season, for example, Nakiri Erina's Eggs Benedict. (I managed to cook it perfectly, on the third try) If you've watched the first season then you'd definitely want to watch season two as well. :)

2. Orange
One day, Naho Takamiya receives a letter written to herself from ten years in the future. As Naho reads on, the letter recites the exact events of the day, including the transfer of a new student into her class named Kakeru Naruse.
The Naho from ten years later repeatedly states that she has many regrets, and she wants to fix these by making sure the Naho from the past can make the right decisions—especially regarding Kakeru. What's more shocking is that she discovers that ten years later, Kakeru will no longer be with them. Future Naho asks her to watch over him closely.

Ahh, orange. Although it looks like a Slice-of-Life anime (which is my favorite genre btw) MAL has listed it with the genres School and Sci-Fi. So what really reminds me of this type of genres and the "feel" of it is Kokoro Connect. I haven't read the manga of this yet but from what I've heard from other people is that this is one of the best titles so far. I'd also like to see Romance here, but we'll see. XD

3. Amaama to Inazuma
Kouhei Inuzuka is a teacher who has been caring for his little daughter on his own since his wife's death. He's no good at cooking, so he and his daughter Tsumugi have been eating packaged meals from the convenience store. A series of events lead him one evening to a restaurant run by the mother of one of his students, Kotori. Her mother isn't there, but Kotori does her best to feed them both. It turns out Kotori is often alone since her parents are divorced and her mother is frequently not around. The three of them begin to meet and cook tasty food together.

My initial reaction to the PV of Amaama to Inazuma. ► OMG ◄ Yes. The little girl very much resembles Naru in Barakamon so much so that I started searching who's her Voice Actor and to my surprise , it was one of the VA for Barakamon, Naru's shy friend Hina (the girl who was always crying) it was a surprise to me because I really thought the VA was the VA for Naru. >_< It should be very fun to watch this series although I have a feeling that this might be heartbreaking to watch like Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! since the background is sort of like the same.

4. Handa-kun
Set six years prior to the events of Barakamon, detailing the life of Seishuu Handa as a high school student—and a very interesting life it is.
In Handa-kun, Seishuu Handa is admired by his peers as a calligraphy genius and given the utmost respect, but Handa-kun himself is under the mistaken impression that the deference and attention he receives from the other students is actually bullying. Handa just wants to live a quiet life, but hilarity ensues as one character after another challenges his position as the school idol, and somehow comes away as a fan all while Handa is horrified and clueless.

Speaking of Barakamon, this one got me by surprise. After I searched for the VA of Amaama to Inazuma, I stumble upon this. I put this on my list because it would be very interesting to see Seishuu Handa in his High school life. XD

5. Love Live! Sunshine!!
Uranohoshi Girls' High School, a private school in the seaside neighborhood of Uchiura at Numazu city, Shizuoka prefecture.
A small high school in a corner of Suruga Bay, it is home to nine teens, led by second-year student Chika Takami, driven by one seriously big dream: To become the next generation of bright, sparkling "school idols"!
As long as we don't give up, any dream can come true... All we have to do now is keep pushing hard for fame and glory!
Now their "School Idol Project" begins to make their dreams come true!

Who doesn't want to watch this one? Except of course if you're a die-hard Idolm@ster fan. XD Love Live is arguably the best of it's genre as of writing and I'd love to see how Aqours would fare with Muse.

6. Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin (Alderamin on the Sky)
At war with the adjacent Kioka Republic, the Katjvarna Empire.
In that region, due to certain circumstances, there was a certain youth unwillingly preparing to take the High Grade Military Officer Exam. His name, Ikta. Disliker of war, lazy, admirer of women.
No one predicted that that kind of Ikta would later on become a soldier referred to even as a great commander...
He who survived a world embroiled in war with his superior genius, Ikta. Illustrating his dynamic, dramatic life, a splendid fantasy military history, the curtain is raised at last!

As you might see, there's a lot of Slice-of-Life anime on my list, specially School genres and so I added an Action/Adventure/Fantasy genre to the mix! Judging from the PV, I pretty much like the art style and the story is interesting enough to get my attention, so we'll just have to see for ourselves once it starts airing.

7. Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!
Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru! focuses on an art club in a certain middle school, and its members: Subaru Uchimaki, who is a genius at drawing faces, but only wants to draw the perfect 2D wife; Colette, a rich troublemaker who never stops making mischief; and the club president, who sleeps through sessions and collects sleeping aids. Mizuki Usami is the only person in the club who wants to do art club-like activities, and constantly struggles to do so.

Finally, a title with a Romance genre tagged in it. XD And an added bonus as well, Comedy! I hope this would be as good as Chu-2 (but I doubt it, LOL)

8. Masou Gakuen HxH
The story centers around Hida Kizuna, who visits the strategic defense academy Ataraxia at his big sister's request. "There, he encounters Chidorigafuchi Aine, a girl piloting the magical armor Zerosu. Aine suddenly pulls off her clothes before Kizuna's eyes. "Don't look, you pervert—" "No, you're the one?!" However, a communique about a serious mission arrives from Kizuna's sister. The mission—to rub Aina's chest?! Actually, Kizuna has the power to level up a girl through indecent acts. With a battle against another world, the future depends on this power.

The obligatory Ecchi, Harem, title in every list. LMAO
Aside from anime series', movies like Koe no Katachi and Kimi no Na wa. will also be aired this season, I will surely watch both of these titles (if I can get a hold of a copy).
And that wraps up my anime list for Summer 2016! There are also leftovers from the previous season: Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu and Kuromukuro. Of course there might also be some other gems that I haven't found yet but I'm sure if it becomes viral or something, I might also add them to my list. To sum things up, here's my anime list again for Summer 2016. :D
